In 2014, the New Yorker workers author Jennifer Gonnerman wrote about Browder and the failings of the criminal-justice system that his case uncovered: unconscionable delays within the courts, extreme use of solitary confinement, teen-agers being charged for crimes as adults, brutality on the a part of correction officers. Ten years in the past, on June 6, 2015, Browder died by suicide.
