    Tesla has signed a $16.5 billion deal to get its next-generation chips from Samsung. 

    “Samsung’s big new Texas fab shall be devoted to creating Tesla’s next-generation AI6 chip,” Elon Musk posted on X late Sunday night. “The strategic significance of that is laborious to overstate.”

    Tesla’s AI6 (AKA {Hardware} 6) chip is the corporate’s wager on an all-in-one chip design that may scale from powering its driver help system often known as Full Self-Driving (Supervised) to Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robots, all the best way to high-performance AI coaching in information facilities. 

    Musk famous Tesla is working with TSMC to make AI5 chips, which simply completed the design. The A15, a era that’s primarily constructed for FSD. will initially be made in TSMC’s Taiwan manufacturing unit after which at its Arizona facility. Samsung already makes the A14 chip, in response to Musk.
