    Step inside Arzia—Aparshakti Khurana and Akriti’s warm, personal and whimsical home

    Some houses impress with grandeur. Others, like Aparshakti Khurana and Akriti’s Mumbai residence, invite you in and maintain you there with their heat.
    Named ‘Arzia’, the house is a tribute to their daughter Zoe, whose arrival marked a brand new starting for the couple. As Aparshakti shares, “She got here into our lives and inside one month we had this home, we obtained it registered.” To which Akriti added, “It’s all of our needs clubbed into one and therefore the title of the home.”
    The person behind this beautiful setup is Inside designer Rupin Sachak. “Even once we had been speaking on the cellphone, I may actually sense the vibe. He was already household,” Aparshakti recollects.

    “I really like combining tales,” Akriti explains. “Stripes taking place right here, floral taking place there… You need to mix leather-based with wooden, overlap carpets, and convey all of it along with vegetation, which all of us love.”

    What really makes this home a house is the way it displays their roots. Childhood pictures, scattered throughout partitions and passages, narrate untold tales. “We simply wish to give all people who comes into our home a slice of our childhood—who we had been, the place we got here from, and the place we’re headed,” says Akriti.Story continues under this advert
    One wall even incorporates a framed poem by Rudyard Kipling, “If”, that holds particular significance. “There can be days when issues is not going to be hunky-dory… The crux of it’s that irrespective of how exhausting the state of affairs is, you could stand up day-after-day and exit for that battle,” Aparshakti tells Architectural Digest. “That’s life.”
    As any couple is aware of, cohabiting peacefully is an artwork, and one of many hacks Aparshakti swears by for a contented marriage is having your individual area to prepare. “That is the place I do all my drama baazi,” he laughs, pointing to her get-ready space. “One hack I wish to provide you with for a contented married life is that you must have your individual areas to prepare.”
    His most shocking discovery through the dwelling setup? “I actually didn’t know I had so many footwear! I had no thought in any respect. Thank God Rupin Bhaiji made this!”
