Deacon Blue’s keyboard participant James Prime has died from most cancers aged 64.Prime was a founding member of the band when it was fashioned in Glasgow by singer Ricky Ross in 1985.In a press release on Instagram, the band stated that “our brother, James Prime, handed away after a brief wrestle with most cancers”.It added: “Thanks a lot for the messages of assist that you simply shared during the last two weeks, they meant a lot to Jim, his household and us.”The band introduced final week that Prime was “critically unwell” in intensive care and had given them the go-ahead to proceed with their scheduled tour later this 12 months.Deacon Blue are one among Scotland’s most profitable bands with 12 UK high 40 singles – together with the long-lasting anthem Dignity and primary Actual Gone Child – and two UK no 1 albums.
