A federal trial is underway to find out the legality of President Donald Trump’s federalization of the Nationwide Guard in Los Angeles to quell protests towards native Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in June. The trial, which opened Monday in San Francisco federal court docket, coincides with the Trump administration’s same-day announcement that it’ll deploy 800 Nationwide Guard troops to Washington, D.C., to imagine management over the capital’s police division.
