Almost 150 workers of the Nationwide Science Basis (NSF) despatched an pressing letter of dissent to Congress on Tuesday, warning that the Trump administration’s current “politically motivated and legally questionable” actions threaten to dismantle the impartial “world-renowned scientific company.”
Most NSF workers signed the letter anonymously, with solely Jesus Soriano, the president of their native union (AFGE Native 3403), publicly disclosing his identify. Addressed to Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), rating member of the Home Committee on Science, Area, and Expertise, the letter insisted that Congress intervene to cease steep finances cuts, mass firings and grant terminations, withholding of billions in appropriated funds, allegedly coerced resignations, and the sudden eviction of NSF from its headquarters deliberate for subsequent 12 months.
